betting on games anymore? How did Vick get caught anyway if it was at his private VA home? Tim Donaghy needs just as much press and media as Vick for what he did. He could have changed the course of NBA history and records if he indeed ref for a Championship game.

Ahh, because the Ref didn’t torture and kill animals, it ain’t basketball season, it is football season, because they went to the home on a drug raid and found the dog kennel stuff and every one knows who Vick is (even my mother) and no one know how Donaghy is – just a ref who bet on games. he wasn’t an athlete. Basketball is not a mainstream sport anymore, despite the attempt by the commissioner. And the NBA couldn’t have been happier with Vick taking the spot light off of them. They will lie as low as possible in the tall weeds.

the reasons are many why Vick is getting the press, and Donaghy isn’t;
the offense involved animals
Vick was considered the falcons franchise quarterback
Vick was headline news before his current problems came to light
football is more popular as a sport than basketball.
Vick killed animals in a cruel manner
Vick bet on dog fighting
all Mr Donaghy did was bet on basketball games, and maybe influence a few games to gain financially.
as to how Vick got caught, it was found that the dog fighting took place on his property that he supposedly rented out to a family member as i recall. thus Vick had a level of plausible deniability. it was his fellow conspirators that turned him in.
