SAN ANTONIO
Meanwhile, in the locker room, one Suns assistant coach was heard cursing out Bruce Bowen, who does seem better equipped for the WWF than the NBA. Stop. It’s too easy to blame this loss on the officials.

That is exactly what they should have done since the report came out about the truth.

The NBA acknowledged Friday the FBI is investigating Tim Donaghy for betting on games, including ones in which he officiated.

Donaghy, who reportedly has resigned, was an NBA official for 13 years. He officiated 68 games in the 2005-06 season and 63 games in 2006-07, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. He also worked 20 playoff games, including five last season — and the Spurs-Suns on May 12.

Next year – things will be different – David Stern better wake up!

My bet is on the Suns or mavericks, because they have the most motivation, and the Spurs never repeat. The east still doesn’t have anybody good enough to challenge the West, but I could see the Cavs or Bulls getting to that level with the right offseason moves.

P.S. If you say the Warriors/Lakers, you’re dumb. The Warriors might not even have their coach back, and the Lakers will be a completely different team than they are now and i don’t feel comfortable saying they’ll suddenly vault into some elite status.

Anyone read the article on cheating refs?

Those guys bet on games to control the outcome and the point spread

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-bettingprobe&prov=ap&type=lgns

The FBI is investigating allegations that a veteran NBA referee bet on basketball games over the past two seasons, including ones in which he officiated.

According to a law enforcement official, authorities are examining whether the referee made calls to affect the point spread in games on which he or associates had wagered.

The law enforcement official said the bets involved thousands of dollars and were made on games during the 05/06 and 06/07

HA I BET THE NBA FINALS IN 06 was fixed…FRICKIN DWADE WENT TO THE LINE LIKE 15-20 times every damn game…it was horrible

Im not a mavs fan btw

I hope all these refs go down and SO DOES DAVID STERN…damn his change of rules and favor for the suns, spurs, cavs…im sick of it

Thoughts/ comments?

am i the only person who thinks this is a very big deal?? this NBA ref is accused of betting on nba games, and on betting on games in which he was the ref. also being accused of having ties to the mob..i myself am a gambler and i understand refs can adjust the outcome of games, whether it be by fouling a certain player out, total amount of points, point spreads..as we speak, the nba is going over all the games he had ref’d in, looking for inconsitincies..and its amazing how this story comes out just as the nfl is in its problems..
he was the ref in the suns vs lakers series when the suns came back to beat the lakers
